You’ve recently eliminated several foods from your diet – such as gluten or dairy – knowing that you’re sensitive to them.
And you’re eating other foods instead.
Maybe you’re even eating a lot of these other foods – they’re ‘safe’ after all.
And the next thing you know, you’ve become sensitive to those foods.
What the heck is going on?
Is this just a part of getting older? Or is there a better explanation?
Well, here’s an analogy I think you’ll like.
If you think of your average window screen, its job is to keep bugs and gnats out of your home – letting in only the good stuff.
The good stuff being fresh air!
However, what happens if there are holes in that window screen?
Next thing you know, a mosquito or two will be buzzing about your head or maybe even a larger insect.
Now compare this to what might be going on your digestive tract.
In other words, when things aren’t in top-notch working order – undigested particles of food or environmental chemicals, & more – can actually leak through your gut wall into your bloodstream.
And what ensues is system-wide havoc!
You might be thinking this would present as obvious symptoms, such as a tummy ache, or an extra trip to the bathroom – but the truth is it’s often a lot more elusive. Yet the damage can be extensive.
On other words – food sensitivities are just the tip of the iceberg. Joint pain, brain fog, headaches or migraines, numbness or tingling in your extremities and more are just some of the mysterious ailments that you’re struggling with and your doctor can’t readily explain.
(That barely scratches the surface).
The likely culprit? It’s what we refer to as a leaky gut, – or intestinal permeability.
Either way, I hope you see the connection.
The thing is – just like a window screen, it’s really hard to protect yourself if you haven’t fixed the ‘holes’.
