What’s Your Toxic Burden?

Holding water in cupped handsThere’s a lot of talk in the media these days about toxicity – both in the environment and in your body.

What’s that you say – your body isn’t toxic at all?

I hear you!

It’s a hard concept to wrap your brain around – and perhaps, you’d rather bury your head in the sand.

But I invite you to think again!

And yes – I totally get it.

It CAN be overwhelming!

Unfortunately, we live in a time when every single human on the planet has been exposed to environmental chemicals.

There’s simply no getting around it.

Some will argue that the human body is perfectly capable of dealing with these environmental toxins entirely on it’s own – and there is some truth to that.

However, the majority of chemicals that we’re exposed to in our present world, weren’t around one hundred years ago.

(Not even fifty years ago, for that matter).

Why is that a problem?

In that span of fifty years, the average person has been exposed to many more lifestyle changes and environmental triggers than our bodies are prepared to handle.

And so, even though your body can be quite efficient at ridding itself of harmful chemicals, up to a point – for most of us, the level of exposure is so great that the human body simply isn’t able to deal with it.

And yes – this includes your body!

It’s all the more reason to limit your exposure wherever possible – and this begins, of course, in the one place where you spend the greatest amount of time – and have the most control.

Your home!

This reason alone is exactly why I devote a good portion of my work to helping my clients reduce their exposure to environmental toxins.

Not only in their kitchen – but throughout the home.

I call this an Extreme Pantry Makeover – focusing on your food, cookware and storage containers, along with the cleaning products you use everyday.

(When you move on to other areas of your home, you’ll want to look at toiletries and cosmetics – plus lots more).

Am I going to ask that you toss your new sofa?

Of course not!

Since environmental pollutants are everywhere, it’s virtually impossible to protect yourself from everything – short of living in a bubble.

And that’s never the goal.

Rather, the idea is to help you limit your exposure to the many chemicals that infiltrate your life – hitch-hiking onto the very products you buy and use every single day.

Things that, unbeknownst to you, could be contributing to illness and disease, and premature aging.

Here’s another way of looking at it:

Are you at all concerned – and maybe a wee bit afraid – about the chronic diseases that seem to run in your family?

Do you worry about the future, and what it holds for YOU?

If so, it’s time to get pro-active  – and kick things up a notch.

So you can set yourself up for the success you deserve!
